We, the Carmelite
Sisters of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus,
|
|
 |
strive to imitate the life of Jesus through Mary, Mother of Carmel, with
love and active prayer wedded to contemplative action. We endeavor
through simplicity of life and the willing acceptance of modest tasks
embraced in the darkness of faith to combine the contemplative and
active life in the missionary spirit of our founder, Father Edward Soler, and of our first sisters for the
needs of the Church, especially in Oklahoma.
|
|
As women of faith and hope in eternal life, we
zealously seek to witness the presence of God in the person of Jesus
Christ through personal contemplative prayer, compassionate concern for
others and vowed community life. We call ourselves and others to
this presence and realization of Christian holiness through an on-going
conversion of attitudes toward a more wholistic life. |

Our Mission
The Eucharist is the summit and source of our charisms. Through our charism
of intercessory prayer and sacrifice we embrace our Carmelite call to pray for
the People of God, particularly priests and other ministers of the Church who
proclaim the Gospel which challenges us to conversion, reconciliation, personal
responsibility and accountability; through our charism of Christian education
|
|
|
|
we choose to serve in our ministries the
special needs of those who experience poverty, spiritual deprivation,
moral disorders and indifference. We believe we are empowered by the
Holy Spirit to work together as church to bring about the Kingdom in each
other, in our work and in the world. |
