MASLANKOWSKI Sister Anastasia, Carmelite
Sister of St. Therese, died Aug. 27, 1984, at Villa Teresa in Oklahoma
City. Born Dorothy Frances, June 12, 1922, in Chicago, the youngest
child of Anastasia Nasadowska and Francis Maslankowski. Attended St.
Michael's Church and Parochial School; graduated 1939 from Bowen High
School. Worked in offices of Illinois Central Rail Road for ten years,
before coming to Oklahoma in 1952 to enter the convent of the Carmelite
Sisters. Completed B.S. in Elementary Education at Oklahoma City
University, and taught for 30 years in parish schools of Union City,
Harrah, Yukon, Newkirk, Sand Springs, Nicoma Park, as well as Little
Flower and Villa Teresa in OKC, also in parish schools of Riverside and
El Segundo in Southern California. Sister Anastasia is survived by
brothers, Walter, St. Petersburg FL, and John, Montgomery AL. Her cousin
is Felician Sister M. Avila of Chicago. She held dear her many nieces
and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Joseph, Casimer, Stephen, Anthony and Leon, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Helen Policke and Mrs. Katherine Fligiel. Visitation is at Villa Teresa in Okla. City, 1300 Classen Drive, from 1pm Wednesday, with Wake Service to follow at 7:30pm, at the Convent. Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel at 7:30pm Thursday, Aug. 30, 1984. Arrangements by Smith & Kernke.
