HEINLY Sister Mary Helena Teresa Heinly of
the Holy Cross, Carmelite Sister of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus,
died Wed., Jan. 6, 1988 at St. Anthony Hospital. She was born Jan. 6,
1916 in Kansas City, Mo. and was raised in Cushing, Ok. She entered
religious life on June 12, 1930. She served God and Church for 33 years
as an elementary school teacher and 19 years as Director of Religious
Education. She taught at Villa Teresa, OKC, St. John's in Yukon, St.
Joseph's in Union City, Sacred Heart in Fairfax, St. Teresa's in Harrah,
Sts. Peter and Paul in Cushing, Our Lady of Guadalupe in Hermosa Beach,
Ca., Christ the King in OKC, and St. Patrick's in OKC. She was a
graduate of Okla. City University and completed post graduate work at
Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Mo. She was an accomplished artist who
taught art classes and was beloved by many students and friends. She is
survived by an aunt, Elsie Kelley Ressel, OKC; cousin, William Heinly,
Tulsa, and cousin, Hugh Ben LaRue of Beverly Hills, CA. and his wife,
Joy and daughter, Tracy LaRue of San Francisco. Wake services will be
Friday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, OKC. Funeral Mass
on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, OKC. Friends may
call after 3 p.m. on Thursday at Villa Teresa Convent, 1300 Classen
