Sister Hildegarde Teresa Roan

ROAN Sister Hildegarde Teresa, Carmelite Sister of St. Therese, died Nov. 8, 1984 at St. Anthony Hospital. Born Martha Roan on June 4, 1896 in Bury England, moved to Providence R.I. as an infant. Entered Carmelite Sisters on June 3, 1932, and celebrated Golden Jubilee of profession on Feb. 6, 1984. Attended OCU, St. Louis University, and Our Lady of the Lake College. Taught school in Fairfax, Sand Springs, Bristow, Yukon, Harrah, and Little Flower and Villa Teresa in OKC. Served as Community Treasurer 1964-70. Lived at St. Ann's Home since May of this year. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, William and John Roan, and three sisters, Mary Core, Jane Black, and Elizabeth Overton.

Living relatives include a niece, Mrs. Virginia Hutchinson of Louisville KY; nephew, Edward Overton of West Greenwich R.I., and several grand nieces and grand nephews. Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel at 5pm on Saturday, Nov. 10, 1984.
