RANALLO Sr. Therese, OCD (Elizabeth
Rose-Betty) died on November 6, 2002 at home in the Carmelite Monastery
in Piedmont, OK. She was born November 26, 1921 in Hartshorne, OK to
Joseph and Josephine Duca Ranallo. She entered the Carmelite Monastery
on December 8, 1940 and made her profession of Vows on December 24,
1942. She was the first Oklahoma woman to join the newly established
Carmelite Monastery in Oklahoma City. In her 62 years in the community
she served many years as Prioress, Formation Director and other offices.
Sister was known for her generosity and indomitable, sparkling, and
forthright spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters:
Grace, and Frances (Wilcox) and her brothers: Frank, Angelo, John, and
Joe. She is survived by her sisters: Mary (Sr. Teresa, CST), Louise (Sr.
Bernadette, OCD), and Catherine (McCaslin), as well as, numerous nephews
and nieces. A vigil will be held on Fri., Nov. 8, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. in
the Chapel at the Carmelite Monastery at 20,000 N. County Line Road. The
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Sat., Nov. 9, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in
