Applicants

If you are a single, Catholic woman, twenty-one years or older, the Candidate Program of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Therese is designed to help you discern whether or not God is calling you to a vowed life in a religious community.  In this program you will seek to deepen your knowledge of God and your life of prayer while discerning mutually with the community whether you are called to embrace a life based on a Christian spirituality lived out in a Carmelite community.

Postulancy

A Postulant in one who is asking admission into a Religious Community.  The time of postulancy extends from six months to two years and provides the woman a gradual introduction to our life through experiences of prayer, community, and service.

Novitiate

The time of novitiate is at least twelve consecutive months.  During the novitiate the novice discerns her call to religious life and to our congregation:  deepens her relationship with the Lord: acquires knowledge of scripture and the mission and charism of the congregation; and prepares for the profession of consecrated life by vows.

Temporary Profession of Vows

A sister's temporary profession is for at least three years. During the time of temporary profession a sister lives the life she has vowed with the help of her director and the community.

Perpetual Profession

Through our perpetual profession we receive full active and passive voice in the congregation according to the constitutions.
